"Crans Montana is known for its excellent snow conditions, in part due to the Plaine Morte glacier. The 11km run down from Plaine Morte is a long black run that is one of the most dramatic in the Alps. The train transfer is stress free, and the après-ski scene is livelier than you'd think."

Crans-Montana offers a superb mix of high-altitude skiing, spectacular scenery and relaxed Swiss charm. The ski area stretches from around 1500 m up to nearly 3000 m on the Plaine Morte glacier, providing excellent snow reliability. Intermediates will find Crans-Montana particularly rewarding, as a large portion of the terrain consists of long red and blue cruising runs. Many slopes are wide and beautifully groomed, allowing confident skiers to enjoy relaxed, flowing descents while taking in the panoramic alpine scenery. Beginners are also well catered for with gentle learning areas and dedicated zones around Cry d'Er and Les Violettes, providing plenty of space to build confidence before venturing further across the mountain. More experienced skiers will appreciate the steeper runs, freeride terrain and long vertical descents available from the glacier sectors. From the Plaine Morte glacier, you can enjoy exhilarating high-altitude skiing and sweeping runs that descend all the way back toward the resort villages. Combined with sunny slopes, excellent mountain restaurants and stunning views of over forty surrounding 4,000-metre peaks, Crans-Montana offers a well-balanced ski experience that appeals to families, mixed-ability groups and anyone looking for classic Swiss alpine skiing.
